check your existing blinds
If you have a window blind which has an operating cord or chain that forms a loop it needs to be kept out of the reach of babies and young children.
Safety devices for every type of blind are available and can be easily fitted to existing blinds. Professional installers must legally fit safety devices and explain their use. There are no exceptions in homes, and this strictly applies to public buildings and landlord properties as well.
Securing existing systems
There are numerous products on the market to retrospectively secure your blinds. We utilize BBSA-approved P-Clips, chain tensioners, and breakaway connectors to ensure your current window dressings are brought up to the latest EN 13120 statutory requirements.
Cleats & Tensioners
All looped cords or continuous chains must be secured using a tensioning device or tied around a cleat fixed securely to the adjacent wall, at least 1.5m from the floor.
